Welcome to the first issue of SC&A’s Building Perspective magazine. As we commemorate a half century of service to the Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Maryland region, this milestone offers us an opportunity for reflection on our past achievements and optimism about our many future opportunities.

Beginning in the 1950s when the firm was established, our reputation steadily grew as a result of our focus on quality and service. During our first 25 years, the firm expanded in scope and skill. Under the watchful eyes of a dedicated and professional leadership, SC&A expanded from developing only residential projects into the commercial arena. During the second 25 years, we broke new ground in land development, large commercial projects, and light industrial R&D projects and built extensive corporate client relationships. Over the years, as our business has evolved, we have overcome obstacles by adhering to our core values of excellence, integrity, responsibility, and commitment. We continue to aspire to those principles as we build toward our future goals.

We would like to express our gratitude to our customers for helping us celebrate our 50th birthday. We look forward to continuing the lasting friendships that result in our repeat business and new relationships that allow us to bring new projects to the drawing board. We also thank our many dedicated employees, many of whom have been members of our team for more than a decade, without whose hard work and loyalty our quality projects would not be possible.

We hope that you consider our new publication a forum for ideas and information concerning the building industry.
